The Navajo Department of Emergency Management provides citizens of the Navajo tribe with prompt and reliable service for police, fire and emergency medical logistical support and coordinates major emergency response.
The mission of the Navajo Department of Emergency Management is to manage incidents, coordinate events, operate communications systems, and provide technology, among other forms of support, to Navajo Chapter services to strengthen their respective missions and to protect lives, property and natural resources for the Great Navajo Nation.
NDEM is committed to closely partnering with local, regional, state, and federal partners to achieve seamless integration and complementary missions. The NDEM recognizes that in addition to its traditional responsibilities at the local level, its support of relevant Counties and States of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. efforts will result in more safety and security for both residents and property. This recognition is driven by the NDEM’s commitment to innovation and flexibility in achieving its mission of supporting the Navajo Nations Homeland Security.
